It was The Great Recession, when Blogspot was the only game in town and Megaupload seemed like a legitimate business. Being fresh out of college meant that you couldn’t really complain about having a job, but mine was stifling. Being tied to this metaphorical whipping post inspired the original Ripping Post; a collection of occasional blurbs or tangents accompanied by album art. I wrote or rambled about music that interested me, hoping that others might come to like it too. Not much has changed in that regard.
This website is dedicated to the promotion of independent record labels and artists. It has become an extension of my role as a DJ and Electronic Music Director at a local college radio station. I do it for the love because music is magic. It has the power to influence our own personal development and define moments in time forever. Don’t let an algorithm write the story. It’s your soundtrack, so keep on digging.
